EDGE is a collaborative platform initiated by EdelGive Foundation with the aim to connect exceptional non-profit organisations with the funding fraternity, in-turn facilitating conversations on collective impact. Apart from speakers and panel discussions, the EDGE Talks platform will showcase EdelGive’s NGO partners as they share their journeys of change.

Natrajan Chandrasekaran

Tata Sons

Natarajan Chandrasekaran is Chairman of the board of Tata Sons, the holding company and promoter of more than 100 Tata operating companies. Mr. Chandrasekaran also chairs the Boards of several group operating companies, including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Tata Global Beverages Limited, Indian Hotels Company Limited and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) - of which he was Chief Executive Officer from 2009-17.

P. Sainath

People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI)

Magsaysay Prize -winner P. Sainath is an Indian journalist who focuses on social and economic inequality, deprivation and poverty, particularly in rural India. In 2014, Sainath launched the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI), a unique online project on rural India, with its 833 million people, speaking 780 living languages and a bewildering array of stories, occupations, arts, music, culture, and a lot more.

Pullela Gopichand

Chief National Coach

Pullela Gopichand won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001, becoming the second Indian to achieve this feat after Prakash Padukone. Currently, he is the Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team and runs the Gopichand Badminton Academy. Gopichand also coached two of India’s Olympic medalist badminton players Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. He received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014.

Dr. Guneeta Singh Bhalla

The 1947 Partition Archives

Guneeta Singh Bhalla currently serves as Executive Director at The 1947 Partition Archive. She has personally interviewed over 100 Partition survivors and rallied volunteers to join in building the grassroots foundations of this people-powered organization. In 1947 her father's family migrated from Lahore to Amritsar on August 14.

Aparna Uppaluri

Ford Foundation

Aparna Uppaluri is the Program Officer for Gender, Racial and Ethnic Justice at Ford Foundation’s office for India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The primary focus of her grant-making is on violence against women and girls. She is also the Founder/Director of the Antara Artists’ Collective - a performing arts organisation that she helped to found in Bangalore.

Safeena Husain

Educate Girls

Safeena Husain is the Founder and Executive Director at Educate Girls – a non-profit organisation that partners with the Government and with communities to improve access and quality of education for all children, especially young girls. She has been conferred with the 2017 NITI Aayog’s Women Transforming India Award and has in the past received the British Asian Trust’s Special Recognition Award from HRH Prince Charles for outstanding contribution in education.

Venkatchalam Ramaswamy

Edelweiss Group

Venkatchalam Ramaswamy has been one of the driving forces in transforming what was once India’s first new age boutique investment bank to a leading diversified financial conglomerate. He has been instrumental in building a client-need based solutions approach in the Distressed Asset Resolution as well as the Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) business, which is India’s leading ARC.

Svati Bhatkal

Director, Rubaru Roshni

Journalist, writer, instructional designer, researcher and film maker, Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal developed a keen interest in social questions as an undergraduate student. Svati co-directed and headed field research for Satyamev Jayate, among the most credible and widely-watched shows in the history of television. In the year 2016, she embarked on the filming of Rubaru Roshni (Where the Light Comes In), a feature length documentary researched and directed by her and produced by Aamir Khan Productions.

Mamoon Akhtar

Samaritan Help Mission

With a vision of giving a better future to underprivileged children of all the communities in the slum, Mamoon Akhtar started the small charity named Samaritan Help Mission. With all his life savings he built a small school on a 600 sq ft parcel of land that his father had donated. With only 6 children attending in 1999, it has now grown to include more than 800 children who participate in school as well as other activities designated for the empowerment of children and deprived girls and women.

Rashesh Shah

Edelweiss Group

Rashesh Shah, co-founder, Edelweiss Group, has three decades of diverse experience in the financial markets and has been instrumental in building Edelweiss into one of India’s leading diversified financial services organisations.A regular commentator on macro-economic policies, Rashesh has served as President of FICCI, which is India's apex industry association, in 2017-18.

Ashif Shaikh

Jan Sahas

Ashif Shaikh is an Indian social activist, known for his role in Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan, a campaign for the eradication of manual scavenging. He is also a co-founder of Jan Sahas, a human rights organisation. Since 2000, Jan Sahas has been working to end caste- and gender-based slavery and violence through the eradication of manual scavenging, caste-based sex work, forced labour, and trafficking. He has won several awards for this work, including the Sadbhavana Award and the Times of India Social Impact Award.

Ruma Devi

Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan (GVCS)

An expert craftsman, Ruma Devi, is the president of GVCS and has trained 22,000 artisans from 75 villages, working in the Thar region of Rajasthan. She has brought international fashion designers to the doorsteps of Rural women artisans proving to be a direct link between the two. Under her guidance, GVCS has had the privilege of participating in the Rajasthan Heritage Week and ramp shows in IGHF for consecutive three years since 2016. She has been awarded the prestigious “Nari Shakti Puruskar 2018” the highest civilian honour for Women in India and was nominated as 51 most impactful innovators for 2019.

Pranil Naik

LeapForWord

Pranil Naik is the Founder of LeapForWord. He is an Engineer by training and a teacher by choice. Pranil started his teaching journey in 2001 when he began weekend volunteering as a Mathematics teacher, preparing Std X students from low-income schools for their board exams. The last decade of his life went into creating the solution that can bring English proficiency to every child who attends government run / aided free regional language schools. He will be spending the next decade in making this solution accessible to every such child.
