Tata Trusts, founded in 1932 is amongst India's oldest, non-sectarian philanthropic organisations. Since its inception, Tata Trusts have played a pioneering role in transforming traditional ideas of charity and introducing the concept of philanthropy to make a real difference to communities. Through grant-making, direct implementation and co-partnership strategies, the Trusts support and drive innovation in various areas. Sita Devi Malhotra Charitable Trust (SDMC) is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wings of SAR Group of Companies. It is actively involved in social initiatives since 2009 in 7 states of India such as Himachal Pradesh, Delhi/NCR, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Bihar. SDMC Trust is supporting schools, institutions offering health services and emergency financial assistance to needy individuals for medical purpose. The trust has also made notable contribution in providing relief aid during natural calamities.

Set up in 2008 in Switzerland, Dalyan Foundation strives to enhance the well-being of women and children from underprivileged backgrounds, to improve their economic prospects and to allow them a life of dignity, choice and opportunity. It considers education and sustainable income generation to be two key instruments in achieving these goals. To this end, Dalyan supports not-for-profit organisations which broadly share these goals through grants. It also offers logistical and intellectual support, by helping these organisations to improve their management capacities and to scale up and become more self-sufficient in their resource generation. EdelGive has partnered with Dalyan since 2015 to help them identify NGOs for support, in India.

Volkart Foundation Indian Trust was established in 1952 by Volkart Brothers, who had business dealings in India. Volkart Foundation is a public charitable trust headquartered in Mumbai that supports NGOs and Institutions who are working for the poor and the marginalized. The Portfolio is divided into Education (ranging from primary education to vocational training), Medical and Health care and Community Development, which includes watershed management and livelihood enhancement. The Foundation works in partnership with NGOs across India. Volkart Foundation has partnered with EdelGive since 2014 for NGOs like Medha, Samaritan Help Mission, Bright Future, Raza among others.
A pioneering institution in the field of financial inclusion for migrant households
Rajasthan Shram Sarathi Association (RSSA) is a pioneering institution in the field of financial inclusion, for migrant households who are traditionally perceived as risky customers. RSSA functions within a larger ecosystem of livelihood support services, by designing and running a combination of informal saving schemes, extending micro-loans, insurance and pension services. RSSA develops financial literacy modules for different life-stages of a migrant worker/families. Since 2011, EdelGive has supported RSSA to design its financial inclusion programs and the ‘Gullak bachhat program’, a unique small saving program leading to 4574 gullak linkages and 587 bank accounts opened.
Initiating sustainable gender sensitive processes of empowerment in Rajasthan
Utthan was founded in 1981 by four professional women, with the aim to initiate sustainable gender sensitive processes of empowerment amongst the most vulnerable communities, in Rajasthan. Utthan’s journey began in Bhal, one of the most resource-poor regions of state of Gujarat, where they initiated and facilitated the emergence of a rights based, community group Mahiti. Today Uttan works in six other districts of Gujarat. EdelGive supports Utthan’s program – ‘Enhancing Livelihood through NRM with Gender just in Tribal area of Gujarat’, which has impacted around 188 household and aims to implement effective management of land and water resources, women empowerment, community awareness with gender sensitive thought capacity building, skill development to bring overall attitudinal and behavioral change in the inhabitants.
Samaritan Help Mission
Empowering the underprivileged and disadvantaged members of the society through quality education
SHM’s objective is to empower the underprivileged and disadvantaged members of the society, especially women, through quality education by the means of preparatory, non-formal and formal schools, and also through generating employment opportunities for the deprived girls and women through its vocational training and skill development projects to eliminate poverty. Realizing the change that SHM has the potential to bring about, EdelGive extended its support to various programs of SHM. EdelGive supports Samaritan Mission School, Rebecca Belilious English Education and Samaritan Public School; touching lives of around 5000 underprivileged students of Tikiapara and Bankra slums.
Association for Advocacy and Legal Initiatives (AALI)
Building strategic and organized mechanisms for action at a State level in UP
AALI was founded in the wake of the UN’s Fourth World Conference on Women (1995), when UP based women activists realized the need for a consolidated approach towards building strategic and organized mechanisms for action, at a state level in UP. AALI works with tripartite strategic framework viz. advocacy, access to justice and capacity building. EdelGive supports AALI to implement a program to promote gender-based justice by empowering marginalized women, especially survivors of human rights violations including Violence against Women (VAW), since January, 2016. Through this program AALI has been able to develop 13 women in to community leaders (to facilitate the community to access socio-economic rights) in Azamgarh District.

A grassroots owned organization focusing on an ‘integrated community development’ approach
CORO was founded with the aim of propagation of adult literacy in Mumbai slums. Over the last 26 years, CORO has structurally evolved to be a grassroots owned organization focusing on an ‘integrated community development’ approach. EdelGive supports the Development of single women’s organisation with individual and collective leadership program to combat Violence Against Women, since in 2015. The program works with 3702 women in in 177 villages, and has identified 126 single women leaders.
Medha Learning Foundation
Medha prepares today’s youth for life after school, with a mission to provide 21st century
Medha prepares today’s youth for life after school, with a mission to provide 21st century skills training, career counselling and workplace exposure, and ongoing job placement with alumni support to students at their existing educational institutions.Till date, the organisation has worked with over 8,000 students, across 60 educational institutions. Over 2,000 have completed an internship or secured full-time employment with over 500 companies. With EdelGive’s support, Medha has been able to train over 2,000 students in the last year.

Vikas Sahyog Pratishthan is a voluntary organisation working on sustainable livelihood
Vikas Sahyog Pratishthan is a voluntary organisation working on sustainable livelihood soil and water conservation, education and skill development, youth development and capacity building of grassroots organisations and local institutions. Since 2015, EdelGive Foundation has been supporting the ‘Livelihood Initiatives through Employment’ program which promotes sustainable agriculture through creation of ‘Poshan Baug’ – Nutrition Garden – an organic kitchen garden and vegetable plot. VSP has evolved this model to address anemia and supplement (women’s) income in drought prone villages in Buldhana, Maharashtra. Poshan Baug uses fallow land in the vicinity of houses and the waste water they generate for cultivating vegetables in the Baug. The program promotes the adoption of Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA) methods for farming. Through this program, VSP works with 17,906 people i.e., with around 4,476 families.
Gramin Vikas Vigyan Samiti (GRAVIS)

GRAVIS was founded in 1983 with the aim of facilitating rural reconstruction reconstruction through watershed management programs. It currently operates in over 1,500 villages in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. The program ‘Replicating Drought Mitigation in Thar’ (RDMT) by GRAVIS, supported by EdelGive Foundation from 2015-18, in 10 villages, has reached 3,000 plus people, and employs systematic interventions to mitigate the drinking water problem, and increase the groundwater levels through construction and desilting of farm ponds. The program supports construction of khadins which has led to 30% increase in agriculture production and regeneration of natural resources, along with building capacities of CBOs, NGOs and local people. The average income increase directly attributable to khadin was 19,300 with a total increase in land under cultivation estimated at 36.2 hectares.

AFPRO is a non-profit, nongovernment organisation working to promote socio-technical development support to other grassroot level NGOs. AFPRO’s operational strategy includes enabling vulnerable sections in society to become self-reliant through training, knowledge and technology transfer. EdelGive has supported AFPRO since 2016. for the ‘Promotion of Rural Livelihoods through farm sector interventions by water conservation measures & structures’ in four villages of Gurur block, in Balod district, Chhatisgarh. Interventions such as construction of rain water harvesting structures like farm ponds, five percent model for promotion of allied activities like fishery, and enhancing capacity building support by including best practices in agriculture with promotion of Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI) program were undertaken. Till date, 635 farmers and 738 acres of land has been cultivated through protected irrigation.

Vrutti was established to build wealth and resilience amongst small producers and vulnerable communities through transformative livelihood solutions.Vrutti assists over 1,20,000 farmers through a variety of farm and non-farm initiatives across India, employing an impactful and scalable model called ‘3-Fold Model’ which aims to increase the income of the farmers three times their current income. EdelGive supports the program, ‘Wealthy, Resilient and Responsible Farmers through Vrutti’s Farm Enterprise Model’, wherein Vrutti facilitated farm advisory and demand generation plans, leading to the development of a culture of entrepreneurship amongst them. This lead to the establishment of a corporate and investment linkage, empowered community institutions, and facilitated knowledge management for farms, markets and entitlements. The program involves 4,000 farmers across two states (2,500 in Chindwara, Madhya Pradesh and 1,500 in Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu).

Torpa Rural Development Society for Women was founded in 1995 for the welfare and empowerment of women and children
Torpa Rural Development Society for Women was founded in 1995 for the welfare and empowerment of women and children from tribal communities, by enhancing education and livelihood, through networking with other rights based NGOs. In 2016, EdelGive extended its support to the project ‘Integral Development of Tribal villages in Torpa and Rania blocks of Khunti District of Jharkhand’. TRDSW with EdelGive is working with 2,200 households and empowering women socially and economically by initiating livelihood programs for them. TRDSW has enabled technology (ITE) to the remotest villages where there is no electricity, roads or public transport. Through the EdelGive-supported initiative, it has provided 20 diesel mini rice mills and a chironji processing unit, with 25% people contribution, in Bilkidura village, which has processed `80,000 worth chironji at `5 per kg. JASCOFED (a government agency that looks after forest products) has now decided to install such units across Jharkhand.

YRA is committed to facilitating social transformation through the socio-economic empowerment of the rural poor
YRA is committed to facilitating social transformation through the socio-economic empowerment of the rural poor by establishing their access over rights and resources. YRA is committed to facilitating social transformation through the socio-economic empowerment of the rural poor by establishing their access over rights and resources. Their current focus is on ‘Livelihood Improvement’, with education, health, food and nutrition, water and sanitation and capacity building towards an emphasis on increasing family income. EdelGive has been supporting YRA’s ‘Diversion Based Irrigation Project (PHAD Irrigation)’, which has indirectly benefitted 8,500 people in five villages, since 2016. Apart from bringing around 260 acres of land under protective irrigation, this project has increased the ground water level and soil moisture in the area by 50%. 33 farmer producer groups have been established, 500 farmers have been trained in ‘sustainable agriculture’ and 214 water conservation structures have been constructed. Through a recent program, it is expected that 130 farmers will initiate agri-based income generating activities like Goatery and Poultry units, five units of low cost and eco-friendly irrigation methods will be developed. 65 farmers’ families will directly benefit with an average additional revenue of `25,000 per family annually, and institutional mechanisms like Farmer Producer Groups; committees at the village level, farmer federation, etc. will be developed.

AROEHAN started with the goal of making Mokhada, a ‘zeromalnutrition tahsil’, with an integrated approach to community development by creating sustainable solutions to provide people with better access to health. EdelGive was one of the first donors to encourage AROEHAN to embark on a multi-pronged intervention, has supported them in staff development and in a host of other ways to emerge as a stable, professional and ethical organisation.
Basic HealthCare Services (BHS)
Basic HealthCare Services is driven by a vision of responsive and effective healthcare ecosystem
Basic HealthCare Services is driven by a vision of responsive and effective healthcare ecosystem; and works towards providing high quality, low-cost healthcare services to the most vulnerable communities. BHS works in underserved areas of south Rajasthan, which has a high tribal population and is characterised by inaccessibility to resources and basic livelihood opportunities. This scarcity of opportunity forces men to migrate, in search of work. EdelGive Foundation supports BHS’s program to consolidate AMRIT Clinics, PHC and Phulwari services, strengthen the quality of care, deepen the connect within the communities, and build competencies of the BHS team. The project is implemented in two locations; tribal blocks of Udaipur, and urban slums in Ahmedabad. Till date, the AMRIT Clinics and PHC, have provided more than 1,00,000 patients with care. About 1,000 children are provided health and nutrition counselling and support at the household level, and about 200 children with severe acute malnutrition have been treated. More than 2,000 women have received antenatal care services, and more than a 1,000 have had safe deliveries. About 150 children are enrolled across 10 Phulwaris.
MANUVIKASA was set up to create and sustain a social order among the marginalised and deprived members of the rural community
MANUVIKASA was set up to create and sustain a social order among the marginalised and deprived members of the rural community; regardless of caste, class, creed and gender, with a special emphasis on women and children, by enabling them through various programs and ensuring sustainable livelihood opportunities, and distribution of natural resources. Through the EdelGive supported program this year, more than 5,000 women will receive credit facilities through banks and financial institutions. 20 crore of credit will be given to the SHG and JLG members. It will develop at least 100 women business facilitators and more than 2,000 SHG members will be enrolled under micro insurance schemes. 300 children will be benefitted with education support by way of scholarships and learning kits. The program will also train over 1,600 members in dairy development, tailoring, vegetable cultivation and computer skills.
Pragati was established to facilitate and strengthen vibrant people’s organisations
Pragati was established to facilitate and strengthen vibrant people’s organisations to protect, utilise, control and manage local resources and through collective action, ensure dynamic socio-economic change for sustainable development. It directly works with 48,803 households in areas of Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Agriculture, Disaster Preparedness, Climate Change Adaptation and Women Empowerment in Koraput, Rayagada and Nowrangpur districts. The EdelGive program implemented with 6,000 small and marginal farmers, works to increase nutritional food and income through the system of crop intensification in paddy, millets and pulses. Also, an ecofriendly irrigation in 10 villages using the half acre model on farms has been demonstrated.

Initially, Sambandh was set up to establish an alternative education system for youth, with a pedagogical approach to grassroots issues of governance and decentralisation. The intervention then moved to Sustainable Livelihoods through Climate smart agriculture, climate change trials, and livelihood improvement through integrated watershed development. EdelGive supports the ‘Water for Life and Livelihood’ program which aims to reach 350 households in the Jashipur Block of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha.

Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan was set up to provide dignified employment and develop selfreliant sustainable livelihoods in rural Rajasthan through capacity building for inclusive development. The organisation works towards holistic growth of their art and craft work in interior Rajasthan, by providing a platform to artisans to showcase their inherited craftsmanship in appliqué design and embroidery. The EdelGive supported program ‘Sustainable effort for financial empowerment of rural women artisans‘ enhances the awareness of rural artisans and empowers them for better income generating opportunities via collective action. The program promotes the craft community in the value chain by institutionalising them into informal SHGs which in future would convert to Producer Collectives and Producer Companies. Also, the artisan community is made aware of current market trends, colour forecasts, the right markets to tap, and value addition practices trending in the craft sector as well as understanding of the entire sales, marketing and value chain.

Adharshila was setup with the intent of imparting quality education to underprivileged children
Adharshila was setup with the intent of imparting quality education to underprivileged children so that they attain the formal skills required to bring positive changes in their lives. The syllabus uses different media to educate children, aiming at overall holistic development. EdelGive has been supporting the ‘Improving access and quality of primary school education among underprivileged rural children’ program, in Vijaypur Tehsil, Sheopur, MP, since January 2015. EdelGive has extended its resources in helping Adharshila evolve into an efficient and strong organisation, ensuring that the team develops a shared vision for the organisation, as well as put a robust HRM system in place for better management.

Agastya International Foundation’s mission is to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and instill confidence in economically disadvantaged children and government school teachers by bringing imaginative and innovative hands-on science education, project-based and peer-to-peer learning to schools, towns and villages across India. EdelGive extends its support to 2 Mobile Science Lab, Lab on a bike, Science Centre, and Operation Vasantha, which has changed the lives of 1,70,000 plus students.

Centre for Civil Society is one of India's first liberal think-tanks dedicated to advancing social change
Centre for Civil Society is one of India's first liberal think-tanks dedicated to advancing social change through public policy, with programs that focus on Education and Governance. The School Choice Campaign is CCS’s flagship initiative aimed at amplifying the voice of budget private schools in the country. EdelGive Foundation has supported CCS for several reports, and policy workshops with journalists and media professionals. In 2018-19, with EdelGive’s support, CCS will host the 4th edition of Edudoc- its international short film competition and the 10th edition of the School Choice National Conference on the education policy. This year, EdelGive also supported research blueprints on core education policy recommendations, leading to strategic advocacy for implementing policy reforms in education.

CULP represents a group of professionals dedicated to bring positive social change via affirmative action
CULP represents a group of professionals dedicated to bring positive social change via affirmative action in the domain of education and development since 1998. The NGO was set up by the like-minded professionals who had the experience of working with large scale innovative projects in Rajasthan for universalization of elementary education through community based education for the mainstream government schools and alternative modes of education in structured way. It was felt that large scale projects ultimately led to uniformity and similarity while children and their contexts were diverse, keeping this view, the group visualized that they needed to create a model of learning which could viable with adaptation and contextualization of curriculum and giving the freedom of pace learning and passing on more and more learning responsibilities through peer group learning and individualized learning. EdelGive supports the ‘Pehchan Project for Educating Out-of-School Adolescent Girls’ since January 2016. Through this program, we have been able to touch lives of over 5000 children of which 70% are adolescent girls.

Gyan Prakash Foundation was established as a public charitable trust
Gyan Prakash Foundation was established as a public charitable trust to join the efforts of various NGOs, corporates and the government, towards improving the quality of education in rural India. GPF works with the conviction that working with the government system rather than creating parallel structures, is the key to scalable and sustainable transformation. Through ‘The Collaborators for Transforming Education’ program, EdelGive is supporting Gyan Prakash in Parbhani and Nandurbar districts. So far over 20,000 children between 6-14 years from government schools have been impacted.
Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy was founded as a platform for active citizen participation in cities.
Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy was founded as a platform for active citizen participation in cities. Today it works with individuals on catalyzing active citizenship in neighborhoods, and with governments to institute reforms to city-systems. Janaagraha’s mission is to help transform the quality of life in Indian cities and towns. They define 'Quality of Life' as ‘Quality of urban infrastructure and services’, and gauge 'Quality of Citizenship' by the ‘Participation in Civic Issues by empowered urban residents’. EdelGive’s partnership with Janaagraha started in 2012-13 with the Urban Capacity Building (UCB) program. From 2015, support from EdelGive has ensured impact in the civic education space by Bala Janaagraha.
Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF)
Kaivalya Education Foundation was founded with the objective of strengthening the public education system
Kaivalya Education Foundation was founded with the objective of strengthening the public education system of the country by transforming the new generation of leaders in this space. KEF's goal is to leverage multi-level partnerships with state governments to catalyse the turn-around of failing schools. Since its inception, KEF has partnered with many Government, private and educational institutions and has impacted more than 4000 schools in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi and Maharashtra. KEF has 4 key programs: Principle Leadership Development Program in various districts of Rajasthan; Principle Leadership Development Program (PLDP) in Surat; District Transformation Program in Jhunjhunu District of Rajasthan; and State Transformation Program in 10 states throughout India. KEF is one of the implementing partners of ‘The Collaborators for Transforming Education’ program anchored by EdelGive Foundation in Maharashtra’s Special Focus District since July 2016. To date, the program has reached over 10,000 children through 153 schools in the two districts of Amravati and Gadchiroli.
LeapForWord was set up for students from under-served communities to access any opportunity
LeapForWord was set up for students from under-served communities to access any opportunity commensurate with their capability and education which hitherto they were deprived of, because of poor English skill. LFW designs simple teaching techniques that can be taught in any local language to teachers of varying English proficiencies, which will enable them to develop English skills in their students effectively. Since 2016, EdelGive has been supporting their program in Maval, Pune. This is a 3-year project which will demonstrate how an innovation (English Literacy Program) can be diffused in a manner with voluntary acceptance, within a large geography amongst government school teachers. The objective is to make 50% of all government school teachers in Maval taluka to start teaching English using LFW’s techniques in their respective classes. LFW has already trained 809 teachers, impacting 7,600 children through this program.

Learning Space Foundation began as a small grass root organization geared towards creative learning
Learning Space Foundation began as a small grass root organization geared towards creative learning, with focus on supplementary education in Zila Parishad (ZP) run rural primary vernacular schools. Since then, LSF has become a notable support resource for rural education initiatives in ZP Schools of Bhiwandi, and Wada Talukas, of Thane and Palghar districts respectively. EdelGive supports the Early Learners Development Program (ELDP) Phase-2, and through this program LSF has been able to train 271 Anganwadi workers and 221 Madatnis, reaching above 5000 children in the age group of 3-6 years.

Raza was set up to eradicate child labor and reduce the number of out-of-school children from the neighboring slum areas. They have been fighting child labor for the last 20 years. Children are encouraged to join the ‘Excellent English School’ which is a free schooling facility. To achieve this, an educational resource center has been set up where children are taught using innovative and interactive methods to enhance their learning curves. Special attention is paid to slow learners. EdelGive supports the Secondary School Project, which works to eradicate child labour and school dropout; in addition to providing good and high quality education at a low cost. Under this project, RAZA also provides teachers training.

Sshrishti made a humble beginning in 2003 with its founder Sanghamitra Bose, providing informal education to 50 – 60 children daily at her residence for almost a year. Sshrishti, which means creation, was registered as a trust on 15th December 2003 and moved to its first rented premises in September 2004. Since then, Sshrishti has grown from strength to strength in the number of beneficiaries it reaches out to, the marginalized communities it develops and uplifts and the number of centres where it runs. EdelGive supports Sshristi for their programs viz. Sshrishti Bal Siksha (200 children), Sshrishti Jai Hind camp (over 100 children), and the Sshrishti Bachpan (close to 100 children).

South Orissa Voluntary Action works to promote the best interest of disadvantaged communities
South Orissa Voluntary Action works to promote the best interest of disadvantaged communities with a particular focus on women and children with a holistic intervention approach. Over the last two decades, the organization has been implementing programs on health, education, governance, livelihood and disaster risk reduction. They work with the community and government to ensure active women participation and involvement in all their programs. EdelGive is supporting SOVA for an integrated program covering 62 villages of Kotpad block in Koraput district. This program includes education, child rights, livelihood, health and village governance, with education being the core focus. With work on access and quality, interventions are both at the pre-primary and primary levels. As children come from a tribal population, language is a key challenge in the classroom, thereby making instructions in their mother tongue, a focus of the intervention.

Sikshasandhan aims to create an educational environment where value based quality education is available and accessible by the most deprived sections of society, and where the internal urge of every human being to learn, think, act and to express oneself can be freely and creatively fulfilled. EdelGive supports Sikshasandhan for their ‘Innovating Quality Education’ program which focuses on developing demonstration schools and ICDS centres, in line with the multilingual education in Kaptipada block of Mayurbhanj district.

ANANDI, a feminist organization has been working with rural poor women in Gujarat
ANANDI, a feminist organization has been working with rural poor women in Gujarat, with a strong emphasis on collective processes and a rights based framework. It was born out of a need to include women more centrally in the development process – to put them at the heart of an organisation's goals and at the helm of decision-making activities within it. EdelGive is supporting a program which focuses on ‘Empowering women farmers to realise food and livelihood security with dignity’. Under this program, ANANDI works with three women’s cooperatives with about 3000 members to develop their leadership and governance structures. 40 sangathan members have been trained to spread awareness on issues related to gender discrimination. Groups of women farmers today have gained access to government schemes and are being trained for sustainable farming practices, fishing and animal husbandry. Women have also been taken on exposure tours to learn mixed cropping, and better practices in animal husbandry.

Ibtada was established to address the socio-cultural and socio-economic issues of women and girls in the conservative Meo Muslim community in Alwar. Ibtada focuses on women’s empowerment through promotion of SHGs, clusters/village organisations, federations and women owned producers companies, education and skill training of girls, and promoting women led livelihoods -agriculture, dairy animals, and goat rearing. EdelGive is currently supporting their program on Empowering women and women institutions through increasing access to their rights and entitlement. Their program works with over 20,000 households in 160 villages of 4 Blocks in Alwar district and has developed about 200 grassroots leaders to facilitate the processes in working with the village institutions, and government stakeholders.

KMVS was set up to address the gender inequities, with a focus on building local leadership of urban and rural women who are capable of addressing the issues to bring about change. The overarching mission is the holistic empowerment of women through their conscientization, organization, and mobilization into local collectives that are capable of independently addressing gender inequities and engendering a sustainable socio-economic transformation in the region. EdelGive has been supporting the ‘salaamati ni dishama kutch na kadam’ (steps by Kutch towards safety) program since 2016. The goal is to build leadership in youth and motivate the community to create a society which is safe for women, girls and the marginalized, and is equitable and respecting for all. To date, over 30,000 women have been engaged in awareness campaigns for the program helpline, which has directly helped 7500 women with counselling and legal aid.

Majlis started as a response to a growing need for lawyers with a gender perspective, who are dedicated to evolving innovative legal practices to defend women’s rights. Headed by Adv. Flavia Agnes, Majlis has an all women team comprising of lawyers and social activists. The primary agenda for social change is quality legal representation for individual women in court, changing mindsets through advocacy and training, and evolving gender just ideology through campaigns and interventions. EdelGive supports Mohim– Handholding Protection Officers & Supervisors (PO’s) program, since 2015. It is a training program for Protection Officers from Mumbai on their role and the way in which they can collaborate with NGOs to provide holistic support to women. To date the program has trained 216 PO’s.

The Milaan logo contains in it three words – Educating, Empowering and enabling, which are a direct reflection of Milaan’s philosophy. EdelGive supports 500 Girl Icon fellows through the Girl Icon Fellowship Program, who are being enabled to set up 1000 social action projects which will help them engage with over 100,000 people in their communities. The leadership journey of the girls equip them with requisite knowledge, skills and networks to challenge discriminatory social norms that are practiced against women and girls.

Nishtha began with Ms. Lal starting an informal group of women, which provided basic literacy and a space for women and girls to come and interact. In 1983, she formally registered this group and called it Nishtha. Today Nishtha functions as a community focused, rights based women’s organization operating in the South 24 Parganas. Since 2016, EdelGive is supporting the Unnatir Uddan Program which aims to ensure the protection of 700 girls from vulnerabilities of early marriage, trafficking and dropping out from education. They are also empowering women in their communities to prevent child marriages and promote education of their peers, in addition to receiving support to complete their school and receive life skills training.

Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) was set up to support Indian athletes to win Olympic gold medals. It is a program of the Foundation for Promotion of Sports and Games, a not for profit which is committed to bridging the gap between the best athletes in India and those across the world thus helping Indian athletes to win medals. OGQ currently supports training of 130 senior and junior athletes and works to promote sports as a way of life. EdelGive supports the training of women athletes supported by OGQ. To date EdelGive has directly contributed to the support of Mary Kom, P.V. Sindhu, Pooja Ghatkar, Ayonika Paul, Madhu Vedwan, T. Thotyala, and Sonia Lather.

Vacha emerged from the women’s movement, and even today has an all women team working with marginalized girls and boys in their teens, with a special focus on adolescent girls. It is an active voice on issues of gender, social relevance as well as engages in human rights issues on common platforms, such as the Right to Pee and Right to Education campaign. EdelGive supports their girl empowerment program of ‘Imparting Life skills training’ to adolescent girls living in bastis. The programme imparts 21st century life skills to adolescents to transform them into productive citizens that are in charge of their life and their role in the community. Through the resource centres, the girls are also taught written and spoken English, and computers, so that they are at par with other students in their schools and colleges.

Sanjog is one of the leading non-profit organisations in South Asia
Sanjog is one of the leading non-profit organisations in South Asia which conducts research, development and training programmes on child protection, gender equity, human rights and social justice. Through EdelGive’s support, the organization is strengthening, empowering and imbibing leadership qualities amongst 120 survivors of human trafficking in North and South 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal. The objective is to enable them to advocate and campaign for the existing government rehabilitation schemes for people in need. So far, the project has trained case workers and worked with the survivors. It has made about 100 applications with the duty bearers to ensure rehabilitative services to survivors with three-fourth of the survivors being able to access these rehabilitative services.

Their aim is to enable and empower individuals and communities to use the available technology for their own empowerment. EdelGive supports IT for Change in implementing ‘Nama Matha Nama Jaga’ (Our discourse, our space) program. Under this, the organisation is focusing on building a supportive community ecosystem for prevention and redressal of all forms of gender-based violence against women and girls, and enabling their access to justice. The organization is carrying out its work by setting up a quasi-institutional and responsive counseling service centre for women and girl victims of gender based violence, through convergence with existing village and block level governmental programs.

The primary focus of their work was to conduct on-ground interventions for the women and girls of the isolated communities of Muslims, Dalits and Other Backward Castes. EdelGive Foundation is supporting Shaheen to create an integrated approach to their community based development programs for socio-economic empowerment of marginalized girls and women. The goal of the program is to reduce vulnerabilities of women victims of violence by imparting them life skills, so that they are empowered to earn their livelihood, become economically independent and escape the cycle of violence.

Breakthrough was founded with the mission of using Art and Culture to bring human rights issues, especially violence and discrimination against women and girls, in mainstream conversation, and inspire influential people to take action for the desired change. EdelGive supports Breakthrough in facilitating positive gender norms among youth, family and community members – to respond to Gender Based Discrimination and enhance a girl’s mobility to access education and life skills in 40 schools across two districts of Haryana - Jhajjar and Rohtak. The organization conducts trainings and community actions in schools and villages of the districts.

Since its inception, Jan Sahas is working with a vision to ensure protection and promotion of human rights of women, girls and children from the most excluded communities and groups like manual scavengers, survivors of rape and sexual assault, bonded labourers, caste based sex workers, Dalit and Tribal communities. Their strategy includes educating and engaging the victims, and providing support for capacity building, networking, research and advocacy. Since January 2018, EdelGive has been supporting Jan Sahas’s program for ‘Empowering girls and ensuring their dignity’, by providing education and skill development support to 1000 girl survivors of rape and sexual assault. Comprehensive defense deterrence system to eliminate child sexual exploitation among disadvantaged communities in 20 districts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have been developed under the program. Its aim is to reduce sexual exploitation of children by increasing the conviction rate. The project aims to register 10,000 cases of sexual exploitation of children during the project period, with court verdict of 50% cases in favour of children. It also aims to develop the capacities of 400 community based organisations and 1000 barefoot lawyers to combat the issue.

Mann Deshi works in one of the most drought stricken areas of Maharashtra with availability of very few employment opportunities, especially for women. The organisation was set up to provide a better life for future generation through women’s economic empowerment, as the founders believed that when women control their households’ finances, more money is invested on children, education, healthcare, and other important domestic issues. EdelGive supports the Weekly Market Doorstep Cash Credit Programme since 2014. The program has reached out to 7,200 women and involves using technology to make ready cash available to women at their place of residence and business. This reduces the women’s dependency and exploitation at the hands of the money lenders. Along with this, the organisation is also working towards supporting rural women entrepreneurs, who are already connected with the Bank to build their digital financial capability. 2500 women entrepreneurs are supported through this initiative.
